When Did We Establish?

MBC was born in March 2020 during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic out of a genuine need to provide specialist and critical burial care, in order to support the large number of fatalities amongst the Muslim community.

Due to social distancing and medical restrictions in place at the time, many existing funeral service providers were unable to continue operations, while those that did, faced an unsustainable backlog of funerals.

Why We Created Muslim Burial Care

Through the grace of Allah Ta’ala, MBC was swiftly able to mobilise a network of volunteers and train them to deliver quality end-to-end funeral care, whilst complying with strict PPE and social distancing regulations, all under the guidance of local scholars. Between March and June of 2020, our team of dedicated and skilled volunteers carried out more than 150 Muslim funerals.

This humbling experience made it clear to us at MBC that there is a critical need for the Muslim community to further invest in a community-based funeral care service, at no cost to families of those who have lost loved ones.

In August 2020, MBC was established with the aim of fulfilling this need, providing free funeral/burial care plans of the highest quality to support bereaved families in the most dignified way. We pray that Allah Ta’ala enables this vision to reach fruition for the benefit of Muslims across the UK.
